Batman fans are in for a treat this fall when the new show "Gotham" premieres on FOX. The highly-touted new one hour drama will feature all sorts of Bat-goodness, and now it looks like we may even see the Clown Prince of Crime, aka the Joker. The younger version of Batman's arch nemesis is set to make his first appearance on the show sometime in the show's maiden season.
The new one-minute teaser trailer packs quite a punch, featuring looks at all of Gotham's villains, including the Riddler, the Penguin and Catwoman. The teaser follows James Gordon walking into a crime scene where Batman's rogues gallery is present. But it is not until the end of the clip that we see a sheet over a dead body that has the Joker's signature smile on it. It may only be a minute long clip, but this should satiate fans until the program debuts on September 22 on FOX.
On the good guys side is the aforementioned James Gordon played by Ben McKenzie and Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock. Also on the villains side is Jada Pinkett Smith as the new baddie by the name of Fish Mooney. All of the villains seem poised to take on Gordon and company as they try to run Gotham City. Bonus points for featuring Catwoman aka Selina Kyle with a cat, the Penguin with an umbrella and Edward Nygma drawing question marks over and over while surveying the crime scene.
Not much is known about Gordon's rise from rookie detective to Police Commissioner, but "Gotham" sets out to feature the by-the-book cop as the city's top hero. This origin story seems like a great jumping-on point for Bat-fans to see the rise of the world's most popular villains.
