The Most Heart-Racing Reveals At The 2016 Geneva Motor Show

The 86th Annual Geneva International Motor Show will be the center stage for some of the most exhilarating rides, with nearly 50 different automakers set to roll out with world premieres. With such a sprawling floor plan, finding the most-thrilling rides — even online — can be an arduous task.

Well, Tech Times is doing the heavy lifting, singling out the most heart-racing reveals at the annual Geneva International Motor Show. Get your motor running!

Bugatti Chiron

Car enthusiasts would be hard-pressed to find a vehicle on the Geneva International Motor Show floor more over the top than the Bugatti Chiron. Replacing the Bugatti Veyron, which had its grand finale at last year's show, the Chiron roars with an 8.0-liter, quad-turbo W16 engine, pumping out an unbelievable 1,478 horsepower, while mashing the dash from zero to 62 mph in less than 2.5 seconds. Buckle up.

Opel GT

Do you know that General Motors is behind this stunning concept? Why? Well, because GM's European division is Opel, which gave the Australian automaker Holden the task of building this Opel GT concept — by hand — specifically for the Geneva International Motor Show. The sporty concept is expected to hit production lines and rival Toyota's 86 coupe overseas with a price tag under $30,000. Meanwhile, the design on this car is so sharp that auto enthusiasts in the United States wish GM would have it made in Detroit. Hey, it's never too late.

Maserati Levante

Hey, Porsche did it with the Cayenne. Bentley even introduced the Bentayga. Why can't Maserati enter the SUV production line? The Italian automaker known for its sleek, but powerful sports cars, rolls out its first SUV via the Levante, available with up to 430 horsepower via its S model or a V6 turbo, 275-horsepower model as well. Zero to 62 miles per hour in 5.2 seconds for an SUV. Feel the rush.

Lamborghini Centenario

The annual Geneva International Motor Show isn't the same without a heart-palpitating reveal from Lamborghini. The Italian supercar maker is striking furiously with its Centenario, churning out 770 horsepower. It's crazy to think that that output is roughly half of the 1,500 horsepower of the Bugatti Chiron, but nobody is going to feel bad for this V12 beast, which Lamborghini is only making 40 of.

Ferrari GTC4Lusso

A Ferrari family car. Yes, you read right. The "4" in the GTC4Lusso's name references its ability to comfortably seat four people. But boasting that extra accommodation doesn't mean that the automaker is sacrificing any power, as evidenced by the V-12 engine screaming under the hood. Ferrari vows that the GTC4Lusso delivers a "whole new world" of experience. Maybe the four passengers riding in the vehicle can confirm that to be true.

Volkswagen Phideon

Even though it's mired in the trudge of its emissions scandal, Volkswagen is still introducing new vehicles. After all, how else is it supposed to power into the future with a new reputation? The automaker is aiming for its Phideon luxury sedan to be exclusively available and targeted to China's high-end vehicle market.

Rimac Automobili Concept_One

When you have the 1,088 horsepower that this Rimac Automobili Concept_One growls with, you better have the technology to back it up. Rimac claims to have just that, equipping this sports car concept with what it calls the "world's highest power density motor system," powering each one of the vehicle's four wheels individually. The results? An "instant response" with "more than 90 percent efficiency and full torque at zero speed."
