If you were wondering what HTC has planned to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 edge and LG G5, the company is teasing its answer. The company tweeted a teaser image of its upcoming HTC One M10, which confirms a recently leaked image of an updated design.
While Samsung and LG were announcing their 2016 flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S7, S7 edge, and LG G5, HTC wasn't ready to show off its next-gen One M10.
Instead, it unveiled the 5.5-inch One X9 and midrange Desire family. The company wants to assure smartphone fans that it does indeed have a handset in the works that will go head to head with the Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 edge and LG G5.
HTC is reportedly planning to hold a press event on April 11 to officially launch the HTC One M10. The company just posted a teaser image of the One M10 on its Twitter page with a message of "#powerof10," likely to boast it will have the same powerful specs Samsung and LG are including in their flagships.
The teaser image also provides a glimpse at what the HTC One M10 will look like. The smartphone is rumored to feature an updated design and its chamfered edges are clearly visible in the photo.
The HTC One M10 is expected to feature a 5.1-inch 2,560 x 1,440 Quad HD AMOLED display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. The handset will pack in 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot. It will run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box and updated version of HTC Sense 8.0, the skin HTC runs on top of Android on its smartphones.
HTC is rumored to be using a 12-megapixel UltraPixel rear camera with laser autofocus, OIS (optical image stabilization), phase detection, and 5-megapixel front-facing UltraPixel camera for selfies and video chat. A larger battery and possibly "Always On Display" could make their way to the One M10 by the time it launches.
As Samsung and LG have officially launched their 2016 flagship smartphones, you can expect details regarding the HTC One M10 will only intensify. As always, we'll keep you posted on any new information as it becomes available.
