Everyone pretty much knows by now that Jared Leto went all-out during the production of "Suicide Squad" and Viola Davis recalled and confirmed this in a Feb. 16 interview.
According to the actress, the cast's introduction to Leto came in the form of a henchman who entered the rehearsal room, dropped a dead hog in front of everyone and left without saying anything.
Davis admitted that she became scared of Leto in that instance and even wondered if the actor was insane. But then she realized how committed Leto was to the character and decided to step up her game.
"I'm terrified, just as a person, thinking, 'Is he crazy?' but the second part was, 'Oh, s--t! I've got to have my stuff together ... talk about commitment!" Davis said.
In a 2015 interview, cast member Adam Beach, who plays Slipknot, also recalled that crazy introduction. He also said that the "gift" came with a video.
"Basically, what he said was, 'Guys, I can't be there but I want you to know I'm doing my work as hard as you guys.' The video he showed is in character. It blew our minds away. Then we realized that day, this is real," Beach said.
Of course, we all know Leto did not stop with the introductory dead pig. Will Smith, who plays Deadshot, also received a special present from Leto: a box of bullets. Then there's Margot Robbie who plays Dr. Harleen Quinzel, also known as Harley Quinn. She received a black box with a live rat in it. According to Davis, Robbie screamed when she opened the box, but everything was fine after that because she kept it as her pet.
