Samsung has tried to keep details regarding the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge a secret, but both smartphones have been making headlines on a daily basis leading up to its Feb. 21 Unpacked event. A recently leaked video showed off a working Galaxy S7 on camera and a look at its microSD/SIM slot tray combo, which is sure to please smartphone fans who weren't pleased that feature was removed from last years Galaxy S6 and S6 edge.
We recently reported on a render of the Galaxy S7 compared with other popular smartphones like the Galaxy S6, iPhone 6s, and LG G4 to give an idea on how the upcoming smartphone stacks up in the size department.
If you were wondering how the Galaxy S7 will compare to the Galaxy S7 edge in terms of size, an image of that scenario has just leaked. The image confirms what we already know, the S7 edge will be bigger than the S7, and the pair appears to have thinner bezels than that of its predecessors.
The Galaxy S7 will feature a 5.1-inch 2,560 x 1,440 Quad HD SUPER AMOLED pressure sensitive display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4 GB of RAM. It will include 32 GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 200 GB microSD cards.
Its camera capabilities will consist of a 12-megapixel rear BRITECELL camera and 5-megapixel front-facing for selfies and video chat. The handset will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and updated version of TouchWiz, and also include a 3,000 mAh non-removable battery.
The Galaxy S7 edge is expected to boast a 5.5-inch 2,560 x 1,440 Quad HD Super AMOLED pressure sensitive display, and pack in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip and 4 GB of RAM. The handset will include 32 GB of internal storage and microSD expansion slot that will support up to 200 GB microSD cards as well.
It will use the same camera setup as the Galaxy S7, 12-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front-facing shooter. The handset will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and updated version of Samsung's Android skin, TouchWiz. Since the Galaxy S7 edge has a larger screen to power, it will pack in a 3,600 mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will also bring back another feature that de the Galaxy S5 very popular, both devices will be waterproof.
Samsung will launch the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge on Feb. 21 and the smartphones are expected to have a worldwide release on March 11.
