'WWE 2K16' Hall Of Fame Showcase, Featuring 20 Playable Superstars, Is Coming Soon

There's something about being able to play as legends that's exciting, even helping to generate the feeling of nostalgia.

Well, that's what WWE 2K16 is going for with the impending release of its Hall of Fame Showcase, featuring 20 playable superstars, seven classic matches and six new playable arenas. The downloadable content (DLC) will be available starting Feb. 23 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, with it slated to also be included in the PC edition of WWE 2K16, hitting stores March 11.

The purchase of the Hall of Fame Showcase will enable gamers to tap their thumbs over the legendary likes of "Macho Man" Randy Savage, The Rock, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Rikishi, Larry Zbyszko, Alundra Blayze, Arn Anderson, The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall), The Bushwhackers and more.

Within the Hall of Fame Showcase the seven playable matches include: Savage vs. Roberts, Rikishi vs. The Rock, Blayze vs. Paige, The Bushwhackers vs. The Natural Disasters (Earthquake and Typhoon), The Outsiders vs. Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray), Zbyszko and Anderson vs. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat and Dustin Rhodes and Ric Flair vs. Japanese sensation Tatsumi Fujinami.

Gamers can either purchase the Hall of Fame Showcase for $9.99 or buy a Season Pass for $24.99, which includes the Hall of Fame Showcase.

The Season Pass also gives gamers the Accelerator, New Moves Pack, Future Stars Pack and Legends Pack. The latter touts memorable superstars in their own right, including WWE Divas Trish Stratus and Lita and the late Big Boss Man, Dusty Rhodes, Mr. Perfect and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.

Available as separate DLC is the Arnold Schwarzenegger Pack ($4.99), including two playable versions of the actor and former California governor as the Terminator (T-800 from Terminator and Terminator 2), and MyPlayerKickStart (exclusive to the PS4 and Xbox One for $9.99), giving gamers instant access to boost created Superstar ratings and attributes within the title's MyCareer Mode.

More than anything, the Hall of Fame Showcase and set of DLC, overall, will extend the enjoyment of the game, getting hardcore WWE fans and gamers alike to tap their thumbs and create gameplay storylines just for a bit longer.
