J.K. Rowling writes a new ‘Harry Potter’ piece

J.K. Rowling published a new piece on Monday for Harry Potter fans that debuted a 500-word history about a character with a big voice.

The new character in the Harry Potter world, Celestina Warbeck, is featured in a biography-style piece on Pottermore.com.

Celestina Warbeck is known as the "Singing Sorceress," an internationally acclaimed singing sensation who attended Hogwarts before rising to fame. Originating from Wales, Warbeck is born of a muggle mother and a wizard father. Her mother, a failed actress, pushed Hogwarts to create a theatre club to showcase her daughter's talents.

The most popular songs that casted spells on adoring fans (including Ron Weasley's mom) are "You Charmed the Heart Right Out of Me," and "A Cauldron Full of Hot, Strong Love."

Warbeck has been married three times, has a son and is known for a lavish lifestyle. Her personal life is often discussed in the gossip column of the "Daily Prophet."

Rowling says that Celestina Warbeck is "one of my favorite 'off-stage' characters in the whole series." The character made an early appearance in the "Daily Prophet" series, and has been featured in the Harry Potter books three times.

The first mention is in the second book of the series, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, when Harry hears her name on the wizard radio at the Weasley home. Celestina Warbeck is referenced again in book six of the series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, when she appears on a Christmas broadcast on a wizard radio, and once more in book seven, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Rowling says a friend she had worked with in London inspired the name for the character. "'Celsetina' was simply begging to be scooped up and attached to a glamorous witch," Rowling says.

The new piece on Pottermore also features the smash hit by the fictional character called "You Stole My Cauldron Bur You Can't Have My Heart," which is the first time a song has been posted on the site.

Fans can read abput the new resident of the Harry Potter world on the Pottermore website after registering for a free membership. The 500-word new piece is located in the "Floo Powder" room, where users have to "unlock" the character's biography by exploring the world.
