With Samsung's Unpacked event scheduled for Feb. 21 fast approaching, new details regarding the Galaxy S7 have leaked. An image shows off its curved back and a trademark filing reveals it could feature an "Always On Display."
Mobile World Congress officially kicks off on Feb. 22 in Barcelona and you can expect to see some of the biggest players in the mobile world unveil their latest and greatest devices. LG and Samsung will both launch their next-gen flagship smartphones, the LG G5 and Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge a day early on Feb. 21.
We recently got a first look at the LG G5 from a render video that used dimensions from diagrams and other leaked information to visualize what the device is believed to look like. Final renders of Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge also made their way online to provide a look at the pair before they are revealed to the world on Feb, 21.
Now, an image of what is reportedly the Samsung Galaxy S7's rear case has hit the web. The photo appears to confirm the S7's 12-megapixel rear BRITECELL camera will barely protrude from the device, which is a departure from that of the Galaxy S6, which had a noticeable bump due to its camera.
A new report also claimed the Galaxy S7 could also have an "Always On Display", as a U.S. trademark application filed by Samsung has just been uncovered. It's believed the feature would draw very little power and display the time and notifications on the screen without the need for a user to turn on the device, in order to access this information.
It remains to be seen if this "Always On Display" feature will make it to the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, but as always, we'll keep you posted on any new information regarding both devices.
