To make adding friends a lot easier, Snapchat has rolled out an update that came with a feature that'll allow users to generate a special link to share with friends, letting them add one another conveniently.
With the goal to become king of video, it doesn't come as much of a surprise that the company is up and about in terms of updates and functions. Snapchat for Android even got the new rewind filter with the latest update, which the iOS version already had way back in October 2015.
Now, the latest feature is yet another step up to improve user experience on the messaging app.
How To Create A Personalized URL On Snapchat
Step 1: Open Snapchat.
Step 2: Swipe down the camera screen.
Step 3: Tap on the Add Friends button.
Step 4: Tap on the Share Username option to generate the URL (e.g., https://www.snapchat.com/add/username)
When another user opens the link on mobile, they'll automatically add the owner of the URL. This provides a whole new level of convenience, especially when it's sent in a message or left in the information section on Twitter, Facebook or any other social media platform, where friends and followers will be able to connect via Snapchat at a tap of a button.
As everyone knows, this isn't the first time that the company integrated an easier way to add friends through the messaging app. Snapcodes have been around for quite some time now, but despite its popularity, it wasn't exactly the simplest method adding friends.
Of course, traditional methods such as manually typing in a friend's name to add them are still A-OK, and they aren't really that hard to do. Users can even use the Add Nearby function to add another user near them.
At any rate, with the special URL in the mix along with Snapcodes and other methods, adding friends on Snapchat is now a snap.
Just to be clear, the update is already live and is available at the Play Store and App Store.
