Learning how your muscles respond to your strength training is one thing.
But seeing how your muscles respond to your strength training is an entirely different story.
Mpower's technology allows users to see their muscle activation in real time via an accompanying smartphone app, so they can truly know just how effective their exercises really are.
The way it works is Mpower's pods get strapped over your muscles via a wearable band. One could isolate one muscle or measure up to four at once, as shown in the video demonstration, in which a man has the pods fitted around each of his deltoid muscles and both of his quadriceps. As he flexes each, the muscle activation measures in real time on the accompanying app, letting you know just how much you're working each part.
Mpower uses a technology called surface EMG to measure and analyze muscle behavior while training. The point of the product and technology is to learn how to adjust and fine-tune your techniques to constantly improve upon your training regimen, as the Finnish company promises to be a "revolutionary muscle trainer to take your strength training to the next level."
A $161 super early-bird pledge on the company's proposed crowdfunding campaign via Indiegogo (not yet live) will land you one Mpower pod, a short and long strap, and everything else needed to get started.
If someone is seeking to get the maximum benefits out of each training session, her or she might want to look more into this smart training tool.
