In November 2015, Blizzard had divulged that the update 2.4.0 would bring several new events, expanded areas, new monsters, additional loot, as well as a new zone dubbed Greyhollow Island and Set Dungeons.
"We draw ever closer to the Public Test Realm for Patch 2.4.0, and it's time to take a look at what the next patch for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls has to offer! We recommend you grab a drink, maybe a snack, and get comfy-there are loads of new items, features, and quality of life changes to cover," said Blizzard at the time.

The patch notes for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls reveals the details of what the update 2.4.0 brings the gamers users' way. There are several tweaks that will be pushed out in the update, which include several content updates and new items.
So What Exciting Features Does The Update For Diablo III Bring?
The update marks the arrival of the hotly-anticipated new zone Greyhollow Island, which finally makes its appearance. The mysterious forest is home to new enemies and is ready for exploration. One will need to brave the forest and unravel the mysteries it holds to be successful.
The Expanded Areas are also available as promised by Blizzard. Gamers can explore The Eternal Woods and Leroic's Manor as the Sanctuary grows bigger. It will be a test of survival in the Eternal Woods, which is the hunting ground of the yeti. Basically, the Eternal Woods is a branch of Ruins of Sescheron.
Leroic's Manor is more opulent now and will give gamers the access to The Royal Quarters, which holds treasures for those who seek.
For those wondering about the arrival of the Set Dungeons – yes Blizzard has kept its promise again. Test your skills in this area – there are 24 dungeons which are custom designed and each one has a "pre-generated, static course designed entirely around a specific class set."
If you don six pieces of your chosen set and go to Leoric's Library, you will be given a hint as to where the hidden trials are. You can master your chosen dungeon once you seek it out. Mastery will unlock special rewards.
The update also brings Empowered Rifts and one needs to spend their gold to authorize a Greater Rift. This brings one the option of upgrading a Legendary Gem. The costs of gold will vary depending on the Greater Rift tier you want.
The update also enables players to buy more space for their stash - up to 350 slots. There are also general benefits such as Death's Breath getting a new item color that is unique. It also supports a beam effect for better visibility.
