Blizzard Wants To Bring 'StarCraft,' 'Diablo 2' And 'Warcraft 3' Back ‘To Glory,’ Is Hiring Engineers To Do That

Good news, fans of classic Blizzard games, as Blizzard Entertainment will be bringing back some old titles to run on modern computers better. Currently, the game developer is looking for engineers to work on the titles and "restore them to glory."

It seems that the lineup for the remake includes StarCraft, Diablo 2, Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos along with their expansions. Hopefully the games' graphics will get a bit of the works so that we'll see Arthas Menethil, a bunch of zerglings and Diablo, to name a few, in a new light.

What's that? Blackthorne? No, the classic platformer won't be getting a remake, but in case you don't know, it's a free download on Blizzard's website, along with The Lost Vikings and Rock N' Roll Racing.

Back to that job posting, Blizzard is looking for software engineers who can bring the "qualities that made StarCraft, Warcraft 3 and Diablo 2 the titans of their day."

"Compelling stories. Intense multiplayer. Endless replayability. Qualities that made StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II the titans of their day. Evolving operating systems, hardware, and online services have made them more difficult to be experienced by their loyal followers or reaching a new generation," the job posting on Blizzard's website says.

Aside from that, there's no other information about it yet, but it would be pretty sweet to see remastered versions of the aforementioned titles. Plus, it would just be great to get Battle.net support for those titles again, making a return to the multiplayer scene.

Unfortunately, Blizzard didn't mention anything about the original Diablo, Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness or Warcraft 2: Beyond the Dark Portal. Of course, it won't hurt to keep our fingers crossed.

We'll just have to wait and see what Blizzard has up its sleeve, but since it's still in the hiring stage, we probably won't see any development soon.
