Kylo Ren Is Part Of The Resistance And Rey Is Obi-Wan's Granddaughter: The 'Star Wars' Fan Theories Keep Coming!

It has nearly been a month since J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" was released in theaters but the excitement has yet to die down. The fan theories keep on surfacing, especially when it comes to the new cast of characters who took center stage in the new installment of the epic science fiction franchise.

Is Rey Obi-Wan Kenobi's granddaughter or is she a forgotten Solo daughter? Maybe Rey is a Skywalker whom Luke fathered with a mysterious woman from the core of The Republic. Is Kylo Ren really a villain or is he an undercover - or underhelmet - Jedi from The Resistance? Check out some of the mind-blowing "Star Wars" fan theories that have the Internet buzzing.

We're saving the most ambitious theory for last, so you (and Kylo Ren) will have to wait for a bit.

Rey Is Obi-Wan's Granddaughter
Rey can do Jedi mind tricks even if she's untrained in using the Force and she employs similar strategies on Obi-Wan. Actually, this theory can best be explained by the person who came up with it. Watch the video below and see if you're convinced with the idea.

Fans are also playing with the idea of a role reversal in the new film. To put it simply, since Obi-Wan trained Anakin and urged Luke to train in using the Force, now it's Luke's turn to train a Kenobi because both he and his father failed in restoring balance to the Force and bringing peace to the galaxy. We have to admit, though, that the possibility is exciting.

Rey Is A Skywalker
What "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" did is to shamelessly push the idea that Rey could be Luke's own child considering his own lightsaber called to her. Then there are also the visions that Rey had in connection with Luke and his whereabouts. It can't be just the Force, some say, it's most likely the result of their blood connection. As to why the film is pushing this idea, it is possible that this is really the direction they are going for or they are consciously trying to deceive all of the viewers.

Rey Is A Solo
We know, the Solos don't recall ever having a daughter but that doesn't stop fans from speculating. After all, in the original "Star Wars" novels, Han and Princess Leia had two children, Jacen and Jaina. Jacen was also pulled to the dark side. In "The Force Awakens," however, the Solos only have Ben who defected to the dark side of the Force and became Kylo Ren. It's possible, right?

Kylo Ren Is NOT A Villain
What do you mean Kylo Ren is not a villain?! Were your eyes closed the whole time you were watching, especially when he killed his own father?!

Chill. There may just be a compelling reason why this theory is plausible. Let's get down to the details.

There's a theory that Kylo Ren is pulling a Severus Snape on us all. You read that right, Severus Snape, that terror Potions Master, Defense Against The Dark Arts professor and later Headmaster from J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" universe.

What does it mean to pull a Snape? Well if you have read the entire series, you should know that despite Professor Snape tormenting Harry pretty much his whole stay in Hogwarts and being known as one of Lord Voldemort's most loyal Death Eaters, Snape was actually cunning and skilled enough to be a double agent. He was able to fool the greatest (or worst) Dark Lord and gain his trust, even though he did have to kill one of the greatest wizards to ever live to completely earn that trust.

Well, there's speculation that Kylo Ren may just be doing the same thing. That is, defecting to the dark side and commanding heinous acts in order to destroy it from within. But why kill Han Solo, his own father?

Does the name Joseph Campbell mean anything to you? Well, Joseph Campbell is a brilliant mythologist who studied world myths and came up with the monomyth, or "the hero's journey," a concept that describes a classic sequence of actions or stages found in many adventure stories. One of the stages is that a hero must defeat or gain approval from his father figure. Hello Kylo Ren killing Han.

Plausible? We think so too.
