Best Buy has announced that it will exclusively offer the Electric Blue Samsung Galaxy S5. The smartphone will be available to AT&T, Verizon and Sprint customers for $99.
When Samsung unveiled its latest flagship Galaxy S5, it not only included top of the line specs like a 5.1-inch 1080p display, 16-megapixel rear camera, and powerful 2.5GH quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The company also included new and useful features like a fingerprint scanner that's embedded inside the smartphone's home button. Users can use the biometric scanner to not only unlock their device, but also authorize PayPal purchases with ease.
Health buffs will appreciate the built-in heart rate sensor that's located below the smartphone's rear camera and is completely integrated with an updated version of Samsung's S Health app. The Galaxy S5 also has another cool feature, its IP67 certified dust and water-resistant is safe in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.
Best Buy has announced that it will exclusively offer the Electric Blue Samsung Galaxy S5 online and in its retail stores beginning on Aug. 17. As part of a promotion, the retailer will price the Galaxy S5 at a discounted price of $99 ($100 off) for AT&T, Verizon and Sprint customers. Best Buy also notes, "If customers opt for one of the new monthly installment billing options including AT&T Next, Verizon Edge or Sprint Easy Pay, they can snag the Electric Blue Galaxy S5 for $0 down and receive a $100 Best Buy gift card with their activation."
The Samsung Galaxy S5 features a 5.1-inch 1920 x 1080 Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 432 pixels per inch (ppi). The smartphone is powered by a speedy 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, Adreno 330 GPU (graphics processing unit), and 2 GB of RAM. It includes 16GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 128 GB microSD cards. The handset ships with Android 4.4.2 KitKat and an updated version of Samsung's TouchWiz UI.
The Galaxy S5 boasts a high-end 16-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, the ability to record Ultra HD video @ 30fps, face and smile detection, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat, selfies, and the ability to record 1080p HD video @ 30fps. The smartphone ships with a large removable 2,800 mAh battery that will provide up to 29 hours of talk time and up to 20 days of standby time.
The exclusive Electric Blue Samsung Galaxy S5 can be purchased through Best Buy's online store and retail stores beginning on Aug. 17 for $99 when signing a new 2-year contract with AT&T, Verizon or Sprint. This special promotion pricing is only available from Aug. 17-23.
