No matter what, Final Fantasy characters are always fashionable. It's in their DNA.
This is something that French fashion company Louis Vuitton seems aware of, as in a new partnership with Square Enix and legendary character designer Tetsuya Nomura, a Final Fantasy character is now modeling for Louis Vuitton in a new advertisement.
The character is none other than Lightning, the pink-haired heroine of the Final Fantasy XIII games. She can be seen modeling clothes and bags from Louis Vuitton's spring/summer 2016 fashion show that took place in October. The ad even includes music from the game series.
It's a fascinating collaboration between the two companies, and one that isn't nearly as strange as it sounds at first. Final Fantasy characters have always worn lush, less-than-practical, yet visually-captivating outfits, so seeing a character from the series model real-world clothes isn't all that out of place. Lightning also fits well within the theme of the fashion company's 2016 spring and summer show, which states: "Louis Vuitton sets off to conquer the fascinating territory that is today's woman, a complement of strength and fragility."
As the heroine of multiple Final Fantasy games, Lightning definitely has the strength part down.
