Tom Clancy's The Division is still in development at the moment, but someone managed to leak an alpha gameplay of the Xbox One version. Despite being out of the spotlight for quite some time, The Divison is still one of the most anticipated video games of 2016.
The gameplay shows a lot of new scenes that give us some idea of what to expect from the full package.
In the leaked footage, we get to see a guy walking around for a few minutes scouring a vast area. He shows off what looking at the map looks like, along with the overall animation of the game.
He then moves into what seems to be a stronghold, and from there he proceeds to look at a few weapons available for purchase. The player spends a great deal of time here doing various things. Afterwards, the player speaks with fighters, random folks standing around and other characters.
As the player runs around the city, we hear people talking, and one guy who appears to want some help. However, the player ignores him, and he tells him off.
We also notice the interactions between enemy fighters as they attempt to coordinate an attack against the player. In the early parts of the single firefight that was shown, the enemy combatants seem adamant to work together, but that quickly changes.
From what we're seeing, there seems to be an intense single player campaign here, with elements of a role-playing game.
Overall, we like what we saw in terms of atmosphere, but the firefight was not very exciting. It could be the setting and the type of enemies the player was up against, but we were hoping to see some of the cool gadgets in use here, and none of that was shown.
Ubisoft will want to increase the excitement level of this game because it risks being another Watch Dogs.
As for the graphics, we cannot comment on that yet seeing as the video was of low quality. However, one person on Reddit said it looked similar to the gameplay video released during E3 2015.
