‘Minecraft’ Holiday DLC Adds Festive New Skins To Windows 10 And Pocket Editions

With Christmas just around the corner, Mojang is in a jubilant mood, bringing in a couple of new festive skins for Minecraft: Pocket Edition and Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta.

'Tis the season to be jolly in the virtual world, as players celebrate the holidays inside the pixel universe of Minecraft. The game is even getting more realistic – at least, in a cubic sort of way – by the day, where a mobile phone built inside it really works.

With these holiday-themed skins, the game developer and Microsoft are greeting everyone a hearty Merry Christmas.

"The holiday spirit is alive and well at Mojang and Microsoft, and we're excited to share the news of our new Holiday Skins Pack that has launched today," Microsoft says.

The entire pack includes unique avatars, including Gingerbread Creeper, Casual Comfy, Tomte, Snug Snoozy, Puffed Padded, Warm Wooly, Parka?, Jumper?, Father Christmas, Mother Christmas, Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, Toy Crafter, Red-Nose and Tasty Gingerbread. Can't go wrong with names like these, huh?

To top them off, the Holiday Skins Pack also came with overall visual improvements.

"Dedicated skin enthusiasts will also notice that this is the first pack for Windows 10 Edition Beta and Pocket Edition to include extra geometry. That basically means we've tweaked the character models slightly to make them look extra cool," Mojang says.

Mojang also announced that the team has fixed a lot of bugs here and there. However, the studio didn't exactly reveal what tweaks it did, only promising players that the game will run slightly better now.

The Holiday Skins Pack for Minecraft: Pocket Edition and Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta is already available with the asking price of $1.99. If the whole package doesn't suit you, both the Warm Wooly and Jumper? skins are up for grabs for free.

One last thing – Mojang also included a teaser for a "much-requested feature" on its post. Check it out below!
