BLU Life One X Offers 4G LTE, Full HD Display At $99.99, Gunning For Moto G

BLU Products is one of those OEMs that make smartphones with good specs on a budget, and the BLU Life One X is no different.

Motorola's Moto G proved to be immensely popular because it's a good value-for-money smartphone, but the BLU Life One X may pose some serious competition. BLU never really tried to go up against bigwig smartphone makers by competing at the high-end segment of the smartphone market. Instead, it chose to stay on the radar with unlocked, budget-friendly devices – plenty of them.

The new BLU Life One X marks a slight shift in that strategy, as it's shaping up as a real competitor to the Moto G, offering noteworthy performance a much lower price point.

When it comes to specifications, BLU's latest smartphone offers a 5.2-inch full HD display (1,920 x 1,080 pixels), and packs a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek chip under the hood, backed up by 2 GB of RAM.

Other specs include 16 GB of built-in storage space, expandable via microSD, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a front camera of 5 megapixels with an LED flash, and a 2,900 mAh battery to keep it all up and running. On the connectivity front, the budget-friendly One Life X also offers 4G LTE. Dual-SIM support is in the cards as well.

For the sake of comparison, the beefier version of the third-generation Moto G comes with a smaller 5-inch screen with an HD resolution (1,280 x 720 pixels), a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of built-in storage space. It doesn't take much to realize that the BLU Life One X tops the Moto G in nearly any benchmark, and it's far more affordable.

"The Life One X blows the competition out of the water in all measurable features including CPU performance, Graphics, Memory, System, Battery and Web Performance," said BLU Products CEO Samuel Ohev-Zion. "In addition, we are also coming in at a lower price point with better hardware."

The BLU Life One X is available unlocked, in a GSM version, exclusively from Amazon. The smartphone normally costs $149, i.e. about half of what the third-generation Moto G with 16 GB of storage costs. Moreover, a special promotion running between Dec. 9 and 12 slashes the price of the latest BLU smartphone to just $99.99, allowing for notable savings of $50.

Amazon currently lists the $99.99 BLU Life One X as in stock and ready to ship within one to three weeks.
