Throughout the years, Valve, a game developer and digital content distributor, has made some great games and has under its banner some of the most popular videogame franchises, such Portal, Team Fortress, Quake, Left 4 Dead, Counter-Strike and Half-Life, in history. These days, however, it seems that the Bellevue-based company is focusing on the distribution.
However, a leak from Steam's database could change things. If the leaked database listing is true, it could mean the release of PC ports and some big fresh titles, including the highly sought after Valve unicorn that is Half-Life 3, which, if successfully released, will be the third title in the Half-Life game series.
According to the app 66300's infosheet, Half-Life 3 was last updated on Nov. 4. The package that it belongs to contains 3 files, which includes Half-Life 3, Half Life 3 Developer Comp and Half Life 3 for Beta Testing. This is the same for the rest of the leaked titles from the database.
Aside from anticipated Half-Life installment, other games, such as Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, Bad Rats Show, Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Stranger of Sword City, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Steins;Gate, Sonic Boom and more, are also part of the leaked database listings.
Games such as Rise of the Tomb Raider, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- and Final Fantasy VI have either been already rumored or confirmed for a PC release prior to the database listing leak.
However, a lot of people doubt the possibility of the listing pushing through. Most question the Half-Life 3 leak, which many believe Valve won't release anytime soon since no news of its development has surfaced in the recent months. Others cited the inclusion of PS Vita titles.
Neither Valve nor the games' publishers and developers have confirmed the speculated PC ports. Thus, it is suggested to take the leaks with a grain of salt.
