It seems that there is a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game on the way from Activision, at least according to a leak via Australia's Classification Board ratings system for video games.
The game gets an "M" from the Board, which also unveiled that the game's official title is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan. The "M" rating is about equal to the "T" for "Teen" rating by the United States' Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).
The Austrlian rating also has a comment that the new title will have violence and online interactivity. Other details, though, are not known, as Activision hasn't officially announced it.
However, there's one other detail given: Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance developer Platinum Games has a listing on the rating page as the author.
Although Activision has not officially confirmed the existence of the new game, it's likely a real thing: Platinum and Activision recently worked together on two other well-received games: The Legend of Korra and Transformers: Devastation. Activision also holds the license for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, although its last release involving the turtles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, wasn't received well by critics and fans.
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows could have been a fun, short romp with exciting combat, a silly story, and familiar green faces," wrote Gamespot. "A few broken battles in, however, you'll forget all about that potential. This is a sad, unfortunate showing for the heroes in a half shell."
However, Platinum had great success with both its previous titles with Activision, with both games having an emphasis on combat action. Gamers can expect something similar with the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles title, which will likely get more praise than Activision's last TMNT game attempt.
This additional title for Platinum makes the studio extremely busy. The developer has three other projects in the works: Star Fox Zero for Nintendo, Nier: Automata for Square Enix and Scalebound for Microsoft.
