Earlier this year, Warner Bros. Interactive and TT Games revealed that a third LEGO Batman game was in the works. A brief teaser trailer was shown off, with what was basically an extended comedy clip with the Justice League in outer space. That one tidbit of information -- that LEGO Batman 3 is largely set in space -- was really the only thing we learned about the game.
That changed today. Now that Comic-Con 2014 has gotten underway, Warner and TT Games are ready to show off more of what they've been working on. A full, two-minute trailer has been unleashed in honor of the convention, and it finally shows just exactly what gamers are in for.
Among other things, visible in the trailer is gameplay on distant planets of the DC universe as well as in outer space itself. Batman's huge rocket takes off from beneath a pool at Wayne Manor, taking Batman and Robin to a rendezvous in Earth orbit. Superman and Wonder Woman join them there, followed by other members of the League. It's not entirely clear what the overall threat is that the team will be fighting, but several blink-and-you'll-miss-them villains are in the trailer, like the Red Lanterns.
LEGO Batman 3 is available to play on the show floor at Comic-Con, so if you're one of the lucky 150,000 that are there, head to the LEGO booth, the DC Comics booth or the Xbox Gaming Lounge to get your hands on a demo.
