'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' reboot gets a new rap song

Soundtracks have come a long way, and the new single from the upcoming "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" may be the alternative hit of the summer.

The film, due on August 8, conceives a new look and story for the '80s and '90s pop culture icons, along with this new hip-hop beat that looks to carry the film and target its key demographic. The single from Kill The Noise & Madsonik by Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa and Ty Dolla $ign, aptly titled "Shell Shocked," may not be as tight as the old Vanilla Ice single from the original film from the '90s, but it is undeniably catchy.

The single was revealed over at Complex, and it looks to capitalize on the resurrection of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as the franchise attempts to take a slice of the summer box office pie. The hip-hop anthem aims to grab the the attention of the new movie's targeted demographic that has most likely never seen the films from the early '90s. In this reboot, the Turtles will be brought to life via motion capture and CGI, as opposed to the animatronic costumes from the original movies. Starring in the movie is Megan Fox as April O'Neill, Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick and William Fichtner as The Shredder.

Buzz for the film has been building over the last few months, but it has also felt the ire of Internet message boards when the new looks of the Turtles were revealed. While some are not fans of the new style of their childhood heroes, there is a built-in fan base that will see the film when it drops next month. The single from the new film is delightfully cheesy and is sure to be a hit with the little ones before they head back to school in the fall. You can check it out below:
