For some people, Black Friday is just another way for retailers to pump up consumerism and get people to spend more money on their wares. For other people, however, Black Friday is one of the best ways to catch great discounts on equipment that are normally priced restrictively at other times of the year.
Take, for instance, photographers. Serious photographers, whether they're professionals with several years of experience in the business or amateurs looking to buy their first piece of equipment, will have to shell out a good amount of dough if they want something that produces great photos. But when Black Friday comes around, it often becomes a great opportunity for photographers to grab some of the best deals on cameras that would otherwise be too expensive the entire year.
If you're a photographer looking to score some awesome deals, check out the following.
Nikon
Best Buy is offering the Nikon D7100 for the very low price of $1,149. It's a very rare high-end, powerful DSLR you would find priced at this range and it's definitely a steal considering its original price of $1,699. The offer includes the body, as well as 18-55mm and 55-300mm VR lenses, a Wi-Fi adapter and a 32GB memory card.
While the Nikon D7100 is a great option for pros, the Nikon D3300 is also a good midranger with a sale price of $499. Originally $699, the Nikon D3300 comes with an 18-55mm lens. If you want to throw in a 55-300mm lens and a camera bag, you'll have to pay $599.
Canon
If you're more of a Canon fan, eBay offers the Canon EOS 6D DSLR on Black Friday, Nov. 26. It's the most solid deal we've found on a Canon DSLR, as the price will be marked down from $1,699 to $999. However, you'll still have to wait until Black Friday to find out which accessories you get with the deal, so be sure to keep an eye out for it.
The Canon EOS RebelTSi is also available at Best Buy for $799. The camera is down $400 from its original price of $1,099, and the deal comes with both an 18-55mm and a 55-250mm lens, a 32GB memory card and its own camera bag.
On Amazon, you can get the Canon EOS 70D DSLR for only $899. That's a $300 price drop from its original price, but you'll only get the camera body. For the accessories, you'll have to pay extra. There's a better deal on BH Photo Video, though, where you can get the camera for the same price but with a 16GB memory card, a shoulder bag and a battery pack.
Kohls is also offering the Canon EOS Rebel T5 for $399, down from $799. The offer comes with an 18-55mm lens and a 75-300mm lens, but you'll have to wait in line until Kohls opens at 1 p.m. on Friday to get this deal.
And for those who would like to get a simple point-and-shoot as a backup, Best Buy is now offering the Canon PowerShot SX710, with 20.3 megapixels, a memory card and its own camera case. Buyers can get this camera now for only $349.
Other Brands
Sony also knows a thing or two about cameras, especially when it comes to mirrorless cameras. The Sony Alpha a6000 will be offered with a 25 percent discount on eBay on Nov. 29, Sunday, starting at 9 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. The GoPro Hero 4 will also be available at the same time for $100 less at $299.
