The last time all eyes were on Ellen DeGeneres, she was dressed in Kim Kardashian's Shape-ups and Khloe Kardashian's old blouse. She then referred to herself as Karla Kardashian, the lesser-known Kardashian sister.
We loved that episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," but then again, we loved the episode after that, and the one after that and all the ones that came before. The show has had 13 seasons, spanning over a decade.
Let's face it, if it isn't an outright addiction, watching the show is definitely a guilty pleasure.
The 57-year-old comedian recently celebrated the 2,000th episode of her TV talk show, and this time, she was on the receiving end of all the surprises.
As tradition would have it, DeGeneres kicked off the commemorative episode with a knockout opening monologue.
"It is our 2,000th show today! That's right. Congratulations to me, huh?" she started. "I'll tell you something, if someone had told me I was gonna make 2,000 shows, first of all, I would've asked for a lot more money, but ... I would have said, 'You're crazy.' Two thousand is a lot."
Since 2003, almost 860,000 live audience members have seen the show, with over 1,100 bands and around 8,300 guests coming over.
"Together they've gone through 4 million barrels of whiskey. I'll tell ya that," she joked. "I've danced 136 miles, which is the length of five marathons, but I go up steps, so that's like 10 marathons. No wonder I have the legs of a goddess. It's a shame you don't see them."
DeGeneres might have made everyone laugh during the first part of the show, but what happened next during the milestone episode brought her to tears.
Her first surprise guest was gal pal Jennifer Aniston - and lo and behold, she came bearing gifts, well, "a" gift. Fans may remember the welcome mat that Aniston brought to the show 12 years ago during the first episode. Her arrival, as well as the gesture, tugged at the "Finding Dory" star's heartstrings as encapsulated in a big bear hug with Aniston.
Aniston also introduced the next guest by saying that she wanted to "bring some sexy back." On cue, Justin Timberlake walked on to the set.
It turns out, however, that DeGeneres wasn't the only one who was surprised - both Timberlake and Aniston were shocked that they were able to pull off the surprise with DeGeneres, given how hard it was to do so.
The three engaged in banter, with Timberlake putting DeGeneres on the spot when he asked her to choose a favorite person among the two guests.
"We have a lot of similarities," he joked of Aniston. "We're both fun-loving women."
Another one of DeGeneres' celebrity friends, Kerry Washington, surprised her on the show, gifting her with a custom pair of Olivia Pope wine glasses to celebrate the occasion.
The most touching gift, however, perhaps came from Warner Bros. Television Group president Peter Roth, who gave DeGeneres the honor of having a studio named after herself.
"Ellen, for only the fourth time in the 90-year history of Warner Bros. and in recognition of this - the 2,000th show - I am so pleased and so personally privileged to be able to officially dedicate Stage 1 which forevermore will be now known as 'The Ellen Stage,'" he said, handing her a plaque for the new stage title.
This was the point when DeGeneres tore up in tears. Aniston, also in tears, came to her BFF's rescue, tissue in hand.
"Honestly, on behalf of all of us, you're a treasure. You're a national treasure and now a Warner Bros. treasure," Roth added.
