First 'Finding Dory' Poster Links It Back To 'Finding Nemo'

The adorable blue tang, whose optimism caught the hearts not just of Australian sharks but of millions around the world, is getting a movie of her own 13 years after Disney Pixar's "Finding Nemo." Dory's "Just keep swimming" is more than a line in the film since it has become a source of inspiration for many to keep a positive outlook even in the most dreary situations and the Nov. 9 released poster for "Finding Dory" gives a shout out to "Finding Nemo" with the line "she just kept swimming..." following the lower half of a fish that is unmistakeably Dory.

Ellen Degeneres, the voice of Dory, is back and we're all excited that her not-so-subtle coaxing in her talk show about the possibility of Dory's own film or a sequel to "Finding Nemo" was heard by Disney Pixar executives.

Although details regarding the movie's plot are still scarce, Pixar President Jim Morris revealed that the movie takes place six months after the events in "Finding Nemo" and everyone will get a glimpse of Dory's family. Whether they are as forgetful as her we do not know, but what we do know is that Dory's parents are voiced by Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy.

The idea for the plot came from Director Andrew Stanton's concern for the funny blue tang. "I wanted to know that if this charming forgetful fish ever got lost again, that she would be okay, that she would find her way home," Stanton revealed during the Disney's D23 Expo.

Other stars to lend their voice to what will sure to be another classic are Albert Brooks, Kaitlin Olson, Ed O'Neill, Ty Burrell, Idris Elba and Dominic West. It is interesting to see where Dory's adventure will take her, especially since it is said that a Marine Biology Institute is involved. With a cast like this, who needs anemones?

Ellen Degeneres tweeted the new poster and prepared a surprise for everyone as she hinted an exclusive first look at the much awaited movie on Ellentube with the hashtag #justkeepswimming.

"Finding Dory" is set to swim to theatres on June 17, 2016. It's still seven months away so, for now, let's just keep swimming.
