Marvel Won't Make A Miles Morales Spider-Man Film, So One Group Of Fans Did It Themselves

When rumors about Spider-Man joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the possibility of new Spider-Man films began to run wild earlier this year, there was definitely a large group of fans who wanted Marvel to surprise audiences. Peter Parker is the man most well-known as Spider-Man, but we've seen his story told numerous times in the last decade.

Instead, many fans wished to see Miles Morales, the Spider-Man from Marvel's Ultimate comic universe, on the big screen. Sadly that didn't come to pass, but now one group of fans has shown how the idea could play out thanks to their fan-film.

Titled Spider-Man Lives: A Miles Morales Story, the nine-minute film follows a reluctant Miles who, in the wake of Peter Parker's death, must decide whether or not to embrace his powers and become New York City's new Spider-Man.

It might not be a new Spider-Man movie, but it's got a lot of heart. Writer and director Ivan Kander injects some of Spider-Man's signature humor into the script, as he goes toe to toe with some bad guys.

You can check out the poster (and the film itself) below. Who knows, maybe one day Marvel will be tired of telling Peter Parker's origin story for the third time and let Miles have the spotlight. Until then, this fan-film will have to do.
