‘Fallout 4’ Frame Rate Issues? Players Report Frame Rate Drops To Below 20 FPS On PlayStation 4

Fallout 4 is due to come out in a few hours but almost every inch, every pixel of the game has already been dissected, thanks to the leaks that came out in the recent weeks. Having seen most of the basic gameplay, players who are eagerly anticipating the game have turned their eyes to the technical aspects of the game.

A hot topic on Reddit, particularly on /r/gaming subreddit, is the observed frame rate dips on a recorded gameplay footage of Fallout 4 on Sony's PlayStation 4. At the moment of writing the thread started by Redditor Antiax has garnered 132 upvotes and 379 comments.

On the linked 29-second clip, the player was shown to be killing some Raiders and their attack dogs. The fps drop happens when the player scopes to snipe the enemies. Needless to say, at the end of the clip, the player gets hit, his arm gets crippled and a prompt telling him/her to use a stimpak in order to heal the damage limbs appears.

As one would expect, some people immediately bashed Bethesda for the technical issue and have started to recall the not-so fluid major title releases that the company made in the recent years. However, lest we forget, titles like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt also had its hiccups on release day.

Of course, granted that the dips happen on PS4, the Xbox One gamers came out with a swing and took a jab at the other camp, but it needs to be pointed out that several Redditors have reported smooth gameplay from streamers playing the game on the PS4.

Just like in the movies, the two warring camps were once again united when a common enemy, the PC Master Race, joined the discussion. Of course, there's no question that a decent PC can play the game at a steady 60 fps.

As chaotic as it may seem, this is just proof of how much people want to play Fallout 4. Even with the bugs, people will burn hours on this game, count on that.
