Sony's Pricey PlayStation 4 Noise-Canceling Headphones Aren't Coming To The US ... Yet

From headsets to controller docks, Sony is already involved in a number of PlayStation 4 accessories. Their latest one, however, is a little more expensive than you might guess at first glance.

Sony is preparing to launch their new in-ear stereo headset for PS4 next month in the UK, and it's an impressive piece of tech in a small package. While Sony has released headsets for the PS4 before, this is the first in-ear headset for PS4 from the company. Sony is debuting its new AudioShield technology with the headset's debut, which will help eliminate background noise and further immerse players in their game of choice. The headset will be compatible with PS4, PS Vita, smartphones and tablets.

The headset has all the features you would expect; a built-in microphone for chatting online, volume controls and a lengthy 15-hour battery charge. All those features do come with a price though, as the headset will be priced at £78/€90 (roughly $120). For comparison, the over-ear Sony Gold Wireless headset currently retails for $99.

There is still no word on whether or not the new headset will release in the U.S. at all, though given Sony's domination of this console generation so far, it would seem to make sense for the company to release its new accessory in such a large market. Sony revealed earlier this week that more than 29 million PS4 consoles have been sold in two years.

If you're looking to snag a PS4, this holiday season will be the time to do it. A leaked ad for Sam's Club revealed the console will be on sale at the retailer for $299 on Nov. 14 and will come with a free game as well.
