Only two weeks to go before Fallout 4 finally hits the shelves. And those who have already pre-purchased the game will have the opportunity to pre-load it even earlier than that according to an announcement from Bethesda.
In anticipation of its Nov. 10 release, Bethesda has confirmed that they will be making the game available for pre-loading for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. So if you want to beat the lines in stores and skip the rush for bandwidth online, get ready to start loading up those files and fire them up right away when the game goes live.
According to Bethesda, the entire Fallout 4 game will take up between 28 and 35GB of storage space. Depending on your territory and language preferences, additional language packs which contain more than 110,000 lines of dialogue can also take up additional space.
Although the exact day and time pre-loading will commence has not yet been announced, nor the time when the pre-loaded games will go live, rest assured that customers who preordered Fallout 4 should be able to start downloading the files need to play in a few days' time.
As was previously revealed, the base Fallout 4 has already been completed and developers are currently working on the game's expansions which will begin launching in 2016. All of the game's versions officially went "gold" on Oct. 23.
It was also announced that those who choose to order physical discs of Fallout 4 will still have to download some files from Steam in order to complete the installation and begin playing.
In addition to being able to pre-load Fallout 4, customers who preordered the game will also have additional goodies waiting for them. Xbox One users will get a backwards compatible version of Fallout 3, PS4 users will get a "nice-looking theme" with their game, and Steam preorders get a free Mister Handy announcer pack for Dota 2.
