BlackBerry's new milestone—the BlackBerry Priv, it's first-ever Android smartphone—may or may not determine the future of the retailer and its relevancy within a world saturated with Apple and Google, but the only way we'll find out is when its slider smartphones are finally put in the hands of their consumers and given a whirl. The launch of BlackBerry Priv's preorder on Oct. 23 certainly brought the company a step closer to liftoff, but the question remains: where exactly can one get access to preorder?
If you live in the northern part of the Western Hemisphere, then you're in luck: preorder is available in both the United States and Canada, mostly through ShopBlackBerry.
While preorder for Priv is available in European countries like the United Kingdom (through Carphone Warehouse and ShopBlackBerry UK) and Germany (through Amazon Germany, Media Markt, and Saturn), other members of the EU besides the organization's leader in austerity don't have ready access to purchase the phone.
However, these terms aren't set in stone: as BlackBerry's official preorder announcement reminds customers, updates will be made in real time concerning availability and be posted on social media. Reports have also surfaced that the phone has popped up on some sites in the Netherlands, which is definitely not one of the countries that BlackBerry has listed for preorder.
