Earlier this month, Rocksteady announced details about its season pass DLC for Batman: Arkham Knight, including a full list of what players can expect from each release. One of those pieces of content included a 1960s Batmobile skin for use within the game.
Arkham Insider recently previewed the classic Batmobile within the game and spoke with the developers about how it differs from the other vehicles available in Arkham Knight.
"Compared to the Arkham Batmobile, it's really quite small," says Arkham Knight senior designer Mark Kevern in the bideo. "It's much lighter. It's got a much higher suspension. Because of that, you can throw it into corners much heavier. You can do bigger drifts. You can do side thrusters to get further across the track when you wouldn't normally be able to."
Here's the full video with the first footage of the 1960s Batmobile racing its way across a track in Arkham Knight's version of Gotham City.
This racing track is also new. The look of it is an homage to the classic Batman series, with more color than normally seen within Arkham Knight.
This new content comes via the Season Pass for Arkham Knight and arrives in October. It also includes other fan favorite items from the classic TV show, such as the classic Julie Newmar Catwoman skin, the classic Burt Ward Robin skin and a 1970s version of the Batmobile.
However, more content for season pass holders arrives in November, including the Batman v Superman Batmobile and skins. That's right, Batfleck will soon arrive in Arkham Knight. That piece of content also includes several new episodes and challenge packs.
Finally, in December, those players with a season pass get the "Season of Infamy: Most Wanted" expansion pack for the game. This expansion adds four new missions to the game that sends Batman chasing after Killer Croc, Mister Freeze, Mad Hatter and the League of Assassins.
The December DLC release also includes "Catwoman's Revenge," which allows players to step into the shoes of Catwoman as she seeks her special kind of vengeance against the Riddler. There's also a mission which lets players take on the role of Robin as he searches for Two-Face.
Finally, December includes the 2008 movie Batman skin and an original Arkham Batmobile.
Batman: Arkham Knight is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
