Bungie Admits 'Destiny' Iron Banner And Crucible Loot Drops Botched By Bug, Promises A Fix Next Week

Quite a few players have recently complained about an issue in Destiny: The Taken King's Iron Banner rewards brought about by an awful bug. Bungie is mindful of it, saying a fix is already on the way.

Last week, Bungie rolled out update 2.0.1 for the new game, which comes with a few modifications. Iron Banner likewise went live along with the release of the update.

Bungie revealed players will not need to purchase Iron Banner gears from Lord Saladin as these would be given as end-of-match drops.

It turned out Bungie did not fulfill its promise, leading players to flock to forums and Twitter to gripe about the poor rewards they were receiving.

On its weekly update posted on Oct. 23, Bungie admitted the problem, noting that it is already looking into it and preparing a patch to fix the problem.

"Last week, it was clear to us that you were frustrated by the Iron Banner reward drops, and rightly so," said design lead Lars Bakken. "It turns out that, when we started digging into the issue, we uncovered a nasty bug that affected how Legendary drops happen throughout the Crucible, including Iron Banner."

In the post, Bakken guaranteed that the studio is striving to make sure the upcoming Iron Banner is going to work as designed and is going to be more improved than before. Likewise, he added that the upcoming changes will turn gamers' Crucible career more worthwhile.

Interestingly, the weekly update Bungie published on its website also includes other developers' reports on the forthcoming modifications the studio will soon bring to Crucible bounties as well as quests.

Andrew Weldon, a senior designer, says the company plans to address a few bounties which are too tough to complete, put too many requirements on other gamers or need too many carnages at once.

Leif Johansen, another senior designer, disclosed the studio is in the works in simplifying and shortening the lengthy quest line, billed Crucible Forged.

"Instead of having to complete one Quest at a time, you can complete multiple Quests all at once," said Johansen.
