Those who tend to travel a lot are always looking for new ways to explore a city, and while city tours can be great, they also tend to be expensive and sometimes a little too touristy.
An app called inviita, however, has been created and is designed to allow users to create city tours of their own based on their mood.
Users simply have to log in to Facebook and select the mood they're in, with moods including Foodie, Party People, Romantic or Artistic. Then, the app will select destinations for you to explore. If you select Foodie, for example, you'll get landmark restaurants and places to try out the local cuisine. If you choose artistic, you'll get things like museums and art galleries. It really is a great way to explore a city based on your interests.
Users can select their mood and have a tour generated for them, or they can create their own tour from scratch.
Locations themselves are placed on a map, and users can look up individual destinations, with data being pulled from Foursquare. Then, users can drag and drop locations into a tour timeline to create their own tour or to customize one that already exists. Of course, users can also share their tour on social media if they want.
The creators of inviita have also managed to allow the app to be discovered via emoji. It's currently the only app on the App Store that can be discovered through emoji.
Inviita is a great way for users to plan their city tours, enabling them to take advantage of the time they have in that city and not waste time figuring out where to go once they get there. The app is currently only available on Apple's iTunes App Store, so Android users may have to wait for an Android version.
