Sony launched the Xperia Z5 and the Xperia Z5 Premium during the Berlin Radio Show (IFA) in early September. The Japanese handset maker confirmed at the launch that the new mobile phones will be available in single SIM and dual SIM options. Now the dual SIM variants of the phones called the Xperia Z5 Dual and Xperia Z5 Premium Dual have been announced in India along with a number of pre- and post- purchase offers.
The Xperia Z5 Premium has already attracted a lot of hype being the first smartphone in the world to sport a 4K display. Sony India has confirmed that the Xperia Z5 Dual will be priced at INR 52,990 (about $813), while the Xperia Z5 Premium Dual will have a steeper price tag of INR 62,990 (around $966).
Many smartphone lovers may find the price of the new Sony handsets to be quite expensive but these mobile phones pack in top hardware specs.
The Xperia Z5 Dual sports a 5.2-inch display with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels of screen resolution. The bigger Xperia Z5 Premium Dual boasts a 5.5-inch display.
Both the new Sony devices run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and 3GB of RAM. The smartphones are equipped with a 23MP rear-facing and a 5MP front-facing camera. The handsets have 32GB of internal memory and the option to increase the storage capacity to an additional 200GB with a microSD card.
Apart from the top-end hardware specs Sony is also giving away a number of free stuff to the customers of the Xperia Z5 Dual and Xperia Z5 Premium Dual.
"Both Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium, come with a Sony Quick Charger (UCH10) which enables 5.5 hours usage with just 10 minutes of charging at no extra cost," stated Sony India. "Customers can also redeem Smart Cover for their Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium worth Rs. 3500 from Xperia Lounge for free."
Buyers of the new Xperia Z5 handsets in India will also get INR 4,000 worth of content, which includes three months worth of free subscription to Sony Music, unlimited download-to-own content worth INR 1,500, Sony LIV subscription worth INR 300 for 3 months, free Amazon Kindle e-books worth INR 1,000 and Hungama Play subscription worth INR 750 free for 3 months. Both the Sony handsets will also come pre-installed with Modern Combat video game with free in game credits of INR 780.
HDFC Credit Card customers may also get cash back of up to INR 5000 if they purchase any of the new Sony handsets with their card. Bajaj Finance is also enticing customers to buy the Sony smartphones where customers will have to pay INR 2,999 as down payment and the balance in instalments.
The Sony offers on the Xperia Z5 Dual and Xperia Z5 Premium Dual are very enticing especially when compared to the latest iPhone 6s, which is being sold for INR 62,000 (16GB) on Amazon India.
The Xperia Z5 Dual will be released in India on Oct. 23, and the Xperia Z5 Premium will hit the shelves on Nov. 7.
