The DC Comics storyline "Crisis on Infinite Earths" is probably one of the most popular story arcs known by comic book fans. The goal of the story arc was to solve some of DC's problems with continuity and bring its universe back into one cohesive unit.
For example, when Superman first graced the pages of a comic book, he could leap over buildings, but could not fly. However, now, Superman flies. This was one of the many inconsistencies DC resolved in the "Crisis" storylines. In the end, DC killed off its multiverses by destroying them and then recreating a single universe. "Crisis on Infinite Earths" served as a reboot story for many of DC's heroes and villains and ended the Silver and Bronze age of comics.
With DC movies and TV shows now more popular than ever (and arriving in waves), what would a film based on that story look like?
One YouTuber, UltraSargent, decided to use footage from many of DC's movies and TV shows to create a fake trailer for that movie, Justice League: Crisis. The footage used goes as far back as Christopher Reeves' take on Superman but also incorporates the Brandon Routh and Henry Cavill versions of the character, along with showing scenes from the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice film, with features of Wonder Woman as well.
Most impressively, though, is how seamlessly UltraSargent put all this together, using scenes from this season of The CW's The Flash to explain the multiverses and what's going on (the series is tackling The Flash's side of the story from "Crisis on Infinite Earths" this season).
There's also some clips of Supergirl (Michelle Benoist), as well as a quick clip of Jason Momoa, who will star in the upcoming Aquaman film. Don't miss the clips from Arrow, as well, along with a very brief display of the Green Lantern's symbol.
"Some men just want to watch the world burn," says Alfred (Sean Pertwee) from Fox's Gotham.
Of course, what's a Justice League film without a good villain? UltraSargent chose a scene from the upcoming Suicide Squad movie, with Jared Leto's portrayal of the Joker character.
Justice League: Crisis won't show anywhere in theaters, but DC fans can get their fix on TV with The Flash and Arrow, both airing on The CW, as well as Gotham on Fox. Later this month, on Oct. 26, CBS will bring Supergirl to the TV lineup. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens in theaters on March 25, 2016 and Suicide Squad lands in theaters on Aug. 5, 2016.
