More villains are now rumored for 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice'

Rumors have been swirling today about the possiblity of three villains from the DC Universe who might appear in 2016's "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice." The report comes from LatinoReview.com, and while none of this is definitive, it is always fun to speculate at what tricks director Zack Snyder may have up his sleeve. That being said, take all of these with a big grain of salt.

First and foremost, the respected website reports that the movie will not be featuring the Joker. The ultimate Bat-villain seems to be missing from the film itself, but the story will apparently touch on something Joker-related from the Dark Knight's past.

The rest of the report relies on sources that are claiming these three new villains will be secondary characters in the film. The most recognizable of the three is serial killer Victor Zsazs, with whom Batman deals with early on in Gotham. Zsazs uses a knife to kill his victims and follows each murder up with a "tally mark" that he carves on his body so he can keep track of his ruthlessness. This seems to be a definite dark turn for the film as Zsazs is one crazed psycho in the comics.

In Metropolis it looks like fans may see Lex Luthor's number-two man, Morgan Edge, appear in the DC flick. This is a pretty specific villain that die-hard fans will know, but the casual viewer probably will not. Edge is Luthor's ruthless PR executive at LexCorp, who apparently fights with reporter Lois Lane on a Metropolis talk show. Actor Scott McNairy's name is swirling to be up for this role, but again, this is just a rumor. In the Superman canon, Edge and Luthor go way back to the days of being in Hob's Bay's worst gang.

Finally we have one of the world's most ruthless assassins by the name of David Cain. Again, another choice that caters to those most loyal followers of the comics. Cain is Luthor's bodyguard who does his dirty work for him on the most high-level targets. In the comics, Cain is hired by Luthor to frame Bruce Wayne for the murder of Vesper Fairchild.

The super secret production has not offered much yet, save for the first pictures of Supes, Bats and the Batmobile. Security seems to be pretty tight on the set, but these three rumors may just pan out in the end.
