If you thought chickens could only cluck and cackle, think again: there is at least one chicken that can tweet.
No, we don't mean the chicken can chirp like a little bird. We mean this Australian chicken can use Twitter and has been posting her own tweets.
Her name is Betty and she wants to connect with her Twitter followers and get into the Guinness World Records for being the first chicken to tweet.
It's not as easy as it seems, though. Pecking at the keyboard can be dizzying, and walking over it is not doing much to help her correctly spell words, which is a disadvantage. She has to correctly spell a five-letter English word to be able to reach her goal.
Betty came close on Oct. 14 when she typed the word "bum" but it still lacks two letters; however, it didn't stop her caretakers at The Chicken Treat from having a few laughs about it.
"Bum"? Keep things clean, Betty. pic.twitter.com/qwLAwmQwKr

Perhaps Betty gets frustrated sometimes too and plans to wreak havoc but decides not to follow through with it anymore.
Close call! We thought we were going to have to get Betty exorcised. pic.twitter.com/S3PJEwzELa — Chicken Treat (@ChickenTreat) October 14, 2015
Sometimes, she even tries to send motivation and inspiration to her followers. Of course, it has to be translated from Chikenese by her friends at the restaurant.
Some words of inspiration from Betty. And remember: if a chicken can tweet, you can do stuff too. #ChickenTweet pic.twitter.com/fHX2t14R74

Did somebody ask what "Chikenese" is? Here is the short answer.
Chickenese, the translation from English to Chicken or vice versa #ChickenTweet #urbandictionary pic.twitter.com/zNON7SlxBu — Chicken Treat (@ChickenTreat) October 11, 2015
There are some who find dark humor in the whole situation since the marketing ploy comes from a restaurant chain serving hand-stuffed, slow-cooked rotisserie chicken, and it has been in operation for 39 years now. We just can't be sure if the move is that of adaptation or survival for Betty but, until she enters the Guinness World Records, this smart and sassy chicken is probably safe in her coop and ready to tease everyone with her Chickenese tweets.
