Marvel has once again proven its dedication to this Fall's "All-New, All-Different" branding. The fourth issue of the series catches Thor locking lips with Captain America while airborne in New York City.
This issue features cover art by long-time Marvel comic book artist Alex Ross, know for his detailed and realistic painting style.
The series, written by Mark Waid with artwork from Mahmud Asrar and Adam Kubert, is set for release on Nov. 11 and has already made headlines.
The story behind the kiss between two of Earth's mightiest Marvel superheroes is unknown to many, perhaps intentionally so by Marvel, as it has been keeping mum on the context of the kiss — mostly taunting the chemistry (or has it grown to be a full-fledged relationship?) between the creations of Jane Foster and Sam Wilson, respectively. And why not? The Avengers have had their own share of characters in the romance department — think Black Widow and The Hulk, Vision and Scarlet Witch, Mockingbird and Hawkeye.
Fans may recall that the "All-New, All-Different" series was headlined by Ms. Marvel and Thor. During the March 24 announcement that the two would join the All-New, All-Different Avengers team, two more heroes — Vision and Nova — were revealed.
This reboot is turning the Marvel Comic Universe upside down by showing a different side to both heroes and villains - a side that is revamping the landscape of Marvel.
"This fall, we will be inviting readers into a universe comprised of bold new landscapes populated with characters and teams both familiar and brand-new," stated Axel Alonso, Marvel's editor-in-chief.
Titles all across the Marvel board will be affected by this transformative event, and the goal is to challenge people and take them out of their comfort zone for some good old fun. As the stories slowly unfold, fans should be excited for the evolution of their favorite characters, as well as the new stories they have to tell.
After all, the strength of a character is deeply rooted in its story.
