Prepare for unadulterated and ad-free laughter beginning January 2016 because NBCUniversal Digital Enterprises is launching its new streaming service. SeeSo is the first of its kind offering streaming of only comedy shows for only a $3.99 subscription.
What is NBCUniversal offering subscribers who are willing to pay $3.99? All the comedy TV shows both finished and currently airing, as well as stand-up comedy. What's more, the network will also feature new shows, exclusive and original, that it has lined up in its weekly programming.
"They're great if you know exactly what to watch, but if you aren't in the middle of a binge, the search can be near endless," Executive Vice President of NBCUniversal Digital Enterprises Evan Shapiro said. Shapiro's words ring true because the company will update SeeSo with new content daily, including new episodes of currently airing shows, and they also arranged to live-stream new stand-up comedy on a monthly basis. If that isn't something to get excited about, just hold on to your seats because there's more!
20 original series are in the works just for SeeSo and Darn Harmon and The Upright Citizens Brigade are on board for it. "The Office," "Parks and Recreation," "Saturday Night Live," and "Community" are just the tip of the iceberg.
A comedy sketch titled "Dave & Ethan: Lovemakers" is one among the many new shows to watch out for. This sexy half-hour episode series is more of a comedic sketch where contestants will be taken from the streets of New York and are entered in a game show where impromptu love connections will be made.
Dan Harmon is at it again with "HarmonQuest." This time around, Harmon will be with his comedic companions and they will journey into a world of fantasy role-playing. If you think "Community" is funny, just think of what Harmon has in store.
