In Back to the Future Part II, Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) and Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) traveled forward in time from 1985 to 2015. The 2015 they found was much different than the one we live in today.
In the movie, there were flying cars and hoverboards and self-lacing sneakers and jackets that dry themselves when they get wet. It made for some cool movie scenery, but sadly, that's all it was. While a few things from Back to the Future's future have come true, most of the best stuff has yet to arrive.
What we have instead is, by comparison, kind of lame — climate change, terrorism, cyber-bullying, and Crocs.
It's disappointing, to say the least.
College Humor exists to draw attention to these kinds of absurdities, and its latest cartoon doesn't disappoint. It's drawn in a style similar to Family Guy, with some uncanny soundalikes providing the voices of Doc and Marty. And whoever wrote and animated it knows the source material enough to reference things like Biff's grandson Griff.
We just can't decide if it's funny or sad. (Also note that it's NSFW thanks to a couple of F-bombs.)
