Sales of the iPhone are stronger than ever, however, the same isn't true for the MacBook and iMac.
While there is some disagreement over the rate of slowdown being suffered by Apple when it comes to computers, with IDC reporting 3.4 percent and Gartner reporting 1.5 percent, the idea is the same — when it comes to computers, Apple is suffering its worst slowdown in years.
Apple's growth slowdown is nothing compared with the rest of the PC market, however. As a whole, the PC market has suffered an 11 percent decline, which is quite a bit worse than was expected.
Because of the fact that Apple's slowdown has been so minimal compared with the rest of the market, Apple has been able to increase its market share to 7.5 percent in Q3 of this year from 6.9 percent. Lenovo is still the top PC company, owning a pretty hefty 21 percent market share, and it is followed by Hewlett-Packard and Dell.
Of course, Microsoft is hoping to gain back some of its market share with Windows 10, which has been a hit for the company since it was released. Apple will be coming out with a push of its own, however, and is set to announce a 4K 21.5-inch iMac in the next week, according to reports.
