Apple CEO Tim Cook outed as gay by CNBC: Was this planned or a mistake?

Apple CEO, Tim Cook, is openly gay, though not everyone might have known this since he hasn't actually come out and said this to the public. However, just recently co-anchor Simon Hobbs from CNBC, accidently outed the CEO as gay, a move that is either a huge blunder, or a plot to get Tim Cook to come out in public and openly say he's a gay man.

"I think Tim Cook is fairly open about the fact that he's gay at the head of Apple, isn't he?" according to Hobbs when speaking with CNBC journalists, Jim Stewart.

The room became silent after what Hobbs said, as each person in the room looked at each other in confusion

For years, the majority of mainstream journalism outlets have avoided outing anyone as gay, but as the LGBT community begins gain strength, we suspect this will be a thing of the past. It is not a crime for media outlets to disclose a person's sexual orientation; it's only a crime if the claims are not true.

While Tim Cook has never come out in public to state his sexual orientation, he was named the most powerful person in the LGBT community by Out Magazine. Furthermore, he supported President Barrack Obama on the banning of discrimination against gay employees, and even gave a speech about gay rights and discrimination to the United Nations.

While these actions can be seen as mistakes, we believe the plan is to let more people know that the current Apple CEO is gay, and also a plan to get Tim Cook to make a public statement about this. Cook is not a person who is seeking attention due to his sexual orientation, as he tries his very best to keep his private life from out of the public's eye.

We're not sure how long Cook will be able to pull this off, because the moment he placed the Apple CEO hat on his head, he gave up a great deal of his privacies.

We expect more CEOs to be outed by news media outlets in the future as the LGBT community gain more grounds in the coming years.
