The Star Wars Battlefront open beta begins on Oct. 8 and will feature two competitive multiplayer game types for players to take for a spin: Drop Zone and Walker Assault.
But those aren't the only modes coming in the full version of the game. IGN has early access to the beta, and they've revealed a list of all the game modes that will supposedly ship with the game. We've heard about a few of these before, like Blast and Supremacy, but two previously unannounced modes also appear on the list.
The first is Cargo, accompanied by an image or Rebel troopers on Endor. The second is Droid Run, with the modes image showing Rebel Troopers preparing for battle on Hoth. Both of the images accompanying the modes don't reveal clues about what the new game types will entail. It's possible they are placeholders, with EA not wanting to reveal what the modes will be about until later date.
Cargo sounds like it may revolve around players have to transport cargo from one portion of the map to another, or possibly steal the enemy team's cargo in what might not be so different from Capture the Flag. As for Droid Run, you're guess is as good as ours.
As for the other modes that we know about but are unplayable in the beta, Supremacy will be similar to traditional Battlefield capture point, blast is good old Team Deathmatch and Fighter Squadron will let players live out their fantasies as an X-Wing pilot in massive multiplayer dog fights. The game will also include a cooperative survival mode, which players will be able to try out when the beta goes live on Oct. 8.
Star Wars Battlefront launches on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on Nov. 17. Those who pre-order the game will get early access to the free "Battle of Jakku" DLC when it is released in December ahead of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
