Knowing that several original Heroes characters would be returning for the new limited series Heroes Reborn, as I've watched every episode so far, I can't help but wonder when Hiro Nakamura will return. The space-time continuum-bending comic relief was the heart and soul of the original series.
Well, it looks like the wait is finally over. Hiro, played by the always-delightful Masi Oka, sneaks in the end of the newest Heroes Reborn promo, and he's looking a bit different these days.
In the clip — which is one you've probably seen many times before if you've been keeping up with the series' promotional material over the past few months — it looks like fellow returning Heroes character Noah Bennet (Jack Coleman) seeks Hiro's help. This is possibly in an effort to find out what exactly happened in the hospital Claire had been taken to after the tragedy of June 13 since Noah noticed the timestamp in the security footage of that day had been jumping all over the place during Thursday night's episode.
The promo shows Hiro greeting Noah with "my old friend." The once-boyish Heroes character now looks much more mature in his appearance with streaks of gray throughout his black hair. I know it's been five years since the original Heroes series ended, but Hiro is looking especially old these days. I wonder if Hiro's time-traveling has finally caught up with him.
The rest of the teaser basically shows more of the EVOs on the run and doesn't reveal much, except that we might learn a bit more about how exactly Claire, who had the power of regeneration in the original Heroes series, had been killed at the start of Heroes Reborn. But then again, it does seem a bit early in the series for that mystery to be totally solved.
