'Heroes Reborn: Enigma' Mobile Game Arrives Next Week

In NBC's Heroes Reborn, being an evolved human, or EVO, isn't easy. That's also true of the Heroes Reborn: Enigma tie-in mobile game that releases next week.

In the game, Heroes Reborn: Enigma, an EVO, Dahlia, finds herself trapped in a puzzling predicament inside something called The Quarry. Can Dahlia solve all the enigmas that The Quarry holds and escape her captors?

Heroes Reborn: Enigma will support both iOS and Android devices. The game also takes place in the Heroes Reborn universe created by Tim Kring.

"When I created Heroes, I always envisioned it as an expansive universe with characters and stories that would extend far beyond the reaches of just a TV show," said Kring in a press release. "Heroes Reborn: Enigma dives deeper into the world with a groundbreaking form of storytelling and gameplay unlike anything released before on mobile and tablet."

In Heroes Reborn: Enigma, we meet Dahlia for the first time. As an EVO with the power to shift time, she finds herself a prisoner at The Quarry, a secret government-owned facility. To escape, the player, as Dahlia, must solve brain-teasing puzzles while navigating the complex facility.

Enigma writers worked under Kring's direction so that the game would tie in to NBC's Heroes Reborn television event, which premiered last week. However, it isn't completely necessary to watch Heroes Reborn on TV to play the game.

"While the game extends the storyline from the Heroes Reborn television series and unfolds an entirely new plot to enhance viewers' experiences, the game is also designed as a self-contained experience for those who have not seen the series," writes Imperative Games in a press release.

Enigma is the first of two Heroes Reborn games: Imperative plans on announcing a second game designed for the PC and consoles soon: that game will revolve around Dahlia's sister, Cassandra.

Meanwhile, the Heroes Reborn television event begins a year after a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas, that killed many evolved people with powers, even potentially the cheerleader herself, Claire Bennet. EVOs are now on the run, while Heroes' original horn-rimmed glasses man, Noah Bennet, seeks the truth behind the attack: Was Mohinder Suresh really behind it? It's unlikely, but there are other forces at work here, including Bennet's own wiped mind: can he unlock the secrets trapped inside him?

Heroes Reborn airs on NBC on Thursdays at 8 p.m. EDT. Heroes Reborn: Enigma comes out on Oct. 8.
