The Major League Baseball regular season has 162 games over a grueling six-month stretch.
Within that tear, though, is plenty of downtime...and room for hijinx. Well, with this past weekend being the annual "Rookie Dress Up" hazing tradition, teams around the MLB didn't hesitate to try to embarrass their first-year players.
The New York Mets made their rookies don underwear, from the Underoos brand, for their road trip to Philadelphia, while the Kansas City Royals had their rookies dress up as convicts and the Boston Red Sox had its first-year players go full-on Halloween with an assortment of costumes. The Texas Rangers even had some of their rookies portray Super Mario, Luigi and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
But the best rookie hazing that Tech Times spotted was by far that of the Los Angeles Dodgers. That's because, the Dodgers had their rookies dress up as WWE legends. Superstars such as Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ric Flair, Sting, The Iron Sheik and the late Rowdy Roddy Piper.
The Dodgers' official Twitter account even posted a video of the rookies dressed up as the superstars and boarding the team flight with the accompanying caption, "There's a steel cage in the back."
The rookies will never live this down.
