NFL Rookies Try Cutting Their Best WWE Promos

The ability to cut an entertaining, intriguing promo is essential to any character's development in World Wrestling Entertainment.

After all, the WWE Universe will be the first to name a laundry list of talented pro wrestlers who knew their way around the ring but fell by the wayside when it came to cutting a promo.

In an interesting mash up of sorts, Bleacher Report put several NFL rookies to the test, giving them a faux WWE World Heavyweight championship belt and asking them to cut their best promo on camera.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston, the 2015 NFL Draft No. 1 pick, takes on the moniker of The Jaboo, although he breaks out into Ric Flair, woo'ing, while trying not to break out into laughter.

San Diego Chargers running back Melvin Gordon takes his role of the Hulk more seriously — although he, too, borrows a line from a WWE icon, snatching the mic from the Bleacher Report's Stephen Nelson and calling him a jabroni, like The Rock would.

You'll be taken aback by the way New York Jets quarterback Bryce Petty resembles John Cena — at least from the side profile with the belt draped over his shoulder.

But perhaps the best promo of them all is that of Jets defensive end Leonard Williams, who says, "I'm tired of talking," before hoisting Nelson over his shoulder and walking off with him as if he's about to deliver the Attitude Adjustment.

Funny stuff... but don't quit your day job, guys. Tech Times bets that NBA or MLB rookies would fare better at this challenge than their NFL counterparts did. But a great, fun concept, nonetheless.
