Fear The Walking Dead may be finishing its first season, but there is still plenty of Walking Dead on the way. In addition to the premiere of AMC's The Walking Dead season six on Oct. 11, a new Fear The Walking Dead webseries will debut on Oct. 4.
Officially titled Fear The Walking Dead: Flight 462, the 16 episode series will debut every Sunday starting on Oct. 4 online, with the one minute episodes then making their way to TV as promos for The Walking Dead starting Oct. 11.
The series will tell the tale of passengers on a commercial airplane at the outset of the zombie outbreak, with one of the passengers themselves being infected. One character from the miniseries will then make their way into Fear The Walking Dead season two when it premieres next year.
Fear The Walking Dead: Flight 462 is produced by Fear The Walking Dead producer Dave Erikson and directed by Fear The Walking Dead's director of photography Michael McDonough, so it's nice to see AMC is keeping those who know the show best involved in the miniseries.
"‘Flight 462' is a great extension of the world of ‘Fear' and will engage fans across multiple platforms with another riveting story set at the start of the fall of civilization," Joel Stillerman, president of original programming and development for AMC and SundanceTV, says in a press release (via Comingsoon.net). "We are thrilled to be collaborating with Dave Erickson and David Wiener on another piece of original content. Watching how they'll bring one of these new characters to the second season of ‘Fear' will be really exciting for viewers to follow."
There is certainly plenty of The Walking Dead for fans to enjoy. From two television series, the award-winning video games from Telltale and Robert Kirkman's original comics, there is no shortage of zombie-killing goodness to go around.
