Crackle Is The Best Free Movie Streaming Site That You're Not Yet Using

Sony's entertainment streaming site, Crackle, is like a secret treasure trove of movies and shows that you can watch anytime for free. No subscription costs and no signup even required. With over 250 movies and TV shows in its catalog, it seems crazy that not everyone has jumped in on it yet.

Celebs like Jerry Seinfeld, Bryan Cranston and Dennis Quaid have their own Web series on Crackle. Other titles on the digital streaming service comprise movies and shows from Sony's extensive library.

According to reports, without an account needed to start streaming from Crackle, the service is "always on" and anyone can simply stream a movie or series via the Web to a computer from anywhere. Crackle also has apps for iOS and Android, as well as for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, so there are multiple options for users to access their collection.

Of course, in order to keep the service free for all, ads are peppered throughout the programs. And though newer content, like the latest movies, may not be available on Crackle as quickly, it's still a great alternative to costly subscription streaming services.

On the upside, the smaller library compared to other streaming sites means less time wasted on scrolling through endless viewing options and more time to enjoy classic Sony films and new series, such as Seinfeld's "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" and "SuperMansion," a stop-motion animated miniseries about superheroes voiced by popular celebs including Bryan Cranston of "Breaking Bad."

Eric Berger, Crackle's general manager and the executive vice president for Sony Pictures Television's digital networks department, envisions the Crackle experience to be similar to regular TV with commercials to keep it free.

"With compelling programming and an innovative new viewing experience, Crackle is the perfect combination of linear television and on-demand that provides advertisers with additive solutions that capitalize on the best of both worlds," he said.
