Here's How To Unlock Your iPhone 6s Or iPhone 6s Plus

Apple fans should be glad to know that getting a full unlocked version of the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus has just been confirmed to be actually possible.

Users should be made aware that as long as they have purchased the new Apple flagships in an Apple Store, whether it is for their AT&T, Verizon or Sprint wireless account, the new phones come unlocked.

In the U.S., SIM-free models of the iPhone are made available in a carrier store only two to three months after Apple launches the device. Every year at launch, many users continue to think buying the phones from the Apple Store and paying for them in full would mean that they are getting the unlocked version of the devices.

This time however, it is confirmed that the iPhones bought from an Apple Store come unlocked. However, there are still a few simple steps needed for the user to fully unlock his device.

These steps are as follows.

Step #1. Upon purchasing an iPhone 6s or an iPhone 6s Plus, you need to make sure that the SIM card that comes with the device is placed inside the SIM tray.

Step #2. Turn on the iPhone and then connect it to a PC.

Step #3. Launch iTunes.

Step #4. Follow the comments that are related to carrier activation.

Accomplishing the fourth step will make the PC display a message that says, "Congratulations, your iPhone has been unlocked."

The most important thing to remember when one needs to have his device fully unlocked is that he needs to purchase his iPhone in full price at an Apple Store. The same thing goes when purchasing the device for the AT&T, Verizon and Sprint models. As long as the device was bought at an Apple Store and was paid in full, it is possible to fully unlock it.

If, however, the iPhone was bought from a carrier store and was also paid in full at an off-contract price, the user can get his phone unlocked only after making a request through the carrier. In this case, the user would have to wait for a couple of days for his request to be processed.

If the iPhone was bought with a two-year contract or under any payment plan through the user's chosen carrier, it is not eligible to be unlocked.

Lastly, if the user is on Apple's iPhone Upgrade Plan, his newly bought iPhone comes unlocked. However, he is bound by certain terms from Apple which are applicable no matter what carrier the phone is under.
